Chris,

Both Bond and Mount are shown on the Pike
list, which means that they were most likely
residents of Pike prior to the war; Sgt
William Bond did not survive the war, KIA at
Bentonville; Pvt W.P. "Pinkney" Mount did
survive and was paroled at Greensboro May
1, 1865; I find no trace of him follwing the
war in either the Pike Pension or Cemetery
Records; there was also a Thomas Morehead
listed in the 1889 Troy Messenger as being
a Veteran, but can find nothing further on
him, not even his unit; is it possible that
there was some family connection prior to
the war?
