The last action that could be called a battle (a large scale fight between forces of officially recognized armies)
of what has become popularly known as “the civil war” was the battle of Palmito Ranch, Texas, 12-13 May 1865.
What you may be referring to is the Battle of Blakely Alabama which took place in April of 1865. It was the last battle east of the Mississippi. I’m not certain what was meant by a battle fought 100 years latter.
