New Co. C was the result of the re-organization of Co. D 5th AL Inf. They were known as the Monroe Guards. I believe that Burton Goode was Giles Goode's brother. The original Co. C was from Pickens County and was known as the Pickens Blues. My GGG-Grandfather was Pvt. A.C. McInnis of New Co. C. He enlisted at Pineville, just northeast of Beatrice in Monroe County.
