Wards Battery - hard to find

I saw your message that your ancestor was a 4th gunner for
Ward's Battery. I have a full roster of the company as
printed in an Athens, Alabama newspaper. I know a little
of their history also. They were armed with 4 12lb
napoleans and saw action during the Atlanta Campaign.
Captain John J. Ward was killed in action in july around
Atlanta. He was formerly a sheriff of Madison county and
his house is still standing in Madison. I will try and
find my roster and other pertinet information and put it
on the board or I can email it to you.
