Hayes Lowe25th after MurfreesboroSat Nov 25 22:42:10 2000 The regiment *may* have moved into north Georgia during the Spring of 1863. A number of deaths are noted during May at hospitals in and around Atlanta (for example: Fairgrounds Hospital #1 and General Hospital of Atlanta) . However, these may have been soldiers wounded at Murfreesboro, taken to Chattanooga, then transferred to north Georgia hospitals. I doubt if all were, though. After the Battle of Murfreesboro, the 25th reported men going to several hospitals known to be in Chattanooga, such as Academy, Union, and Gilmer Hospitals. At least one was sent to General Hospital of Atlanta, though. One soldier is noted as having died in Rome, Ga. in May of typhoid fever. Another is noted as having received a disability discharge in April at Tullahoma. Yet another is noted as wounded at Shelbyville 1/3/63 by a mini-ball to the right ear. The 25th was engaged at Murfreesboro on 12/31/1862. I don't know if it was engaged on the second day of battle, or not.Franklin Stinson Comp G Harry Stinson, Tue Nov 28 21:08 25/th Al Inf sue, Sun Nov 26 23:25 Rock Island Hayes Lowe, Mon Nov 27 10:36
