Hayes, I knew about the "Tuscaloosa Plow Boys", which I've seen at times spelled "Tuskaloosa" and I knew about the measles story being the reason for them joining the only regiment left in the area, the 38th Tennessee. However, I didn't know about the other two companies from Alabama.
