Anyone knowing the fate of my great-grandfather, John W. Taylor, born 1820s Powhaton Va, please contact me. A family story is that he came home from his unit in Mobile to see his newborn son, got on a train to return to Mobile and was never heard from again. A soldier was supposedly robbed on the train, his body thrown off and buried by the tracks. John W. Taylor? I have never been able to trace this. His wife Sarah Katherine Hafner Taylor (descendant of Col. Adam Alexander of Rev. War in Mecklenburg, N.C.) was a founding member of Daughters of Confederacy in Greensboro
