Co K of the 15th was never uniformed as
Zouaves; it was known as the "Eufaula City
Guards" under the command of Capt Henry
C. Hart of that city; interestingly enough,
about the company: the company commander
was born in Rhode Island, two men in the
state of Connecticut, one in New Jersey
and eight in Ireland; the oldest man in
the co was Pvt Edmund Sheppard, age 70
and the youngest Pvt Author Bennett at
age 16.
