Kevin, Your ancestor, George W. Doss, was mortally wounded at the Battle of Frayser's Farm on June 30, 1862. His Confederate Service Card states that he died from his wounds on July 18, 1862. However, this is probably inaccurate. According to the burial roster of Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond, George W. Doss was buried on July 12, 1862. He may in fact have died then on July 11 or 12, 1862. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond, VA. in Grave 64 or 63, in Row J or N, in Division C. The reason there are two separate numbers for his grave and row is the fact that the register lists both!
